The Architecture Olympiad is organized by the St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The main contribution to the development and methodology of the Olympiad is made by the Faculty of Architecture.

The School Olympiad in Architecture was held for the first time in the 2017/2018 academic year.

The Olympiad is open for individual participation of pupils of 9-11 grades, studying under educational programs of basic general and secondary general education, including persons mastering educational programs of basic general and secondary general education in the form of family education or self-education, as well as persons mastering these educational programs abroad.

For this purpose, every year the system of educational and methodological support of the Olympiad was improved, different types of tasks were developed, aimed at the development of creative and analytical abilities of the participants, going beyond the traditional school tasks. The Olympiad tasks include drawing and composition and have a pronounced creative orientation.

Main tasks of the Olympiad organizers

  • Assessment of intellectual, aesthetic and creative development of students
  • promoting the development of gifted children
  • vocational guidance of schoolchildren
  • increasing students' motivation to study creative disciplines in depth
  • activation of the work of creative societies, faculties, circles
  • promotion of educational programs of the Faculty of Architecture of SPbGASU in order to recruit trained students
